Kapha individuals
The phrase kapha comes from two roots of ( ka -meaning water and pha -meaning to flourish) which is flourished by water. Earth and water give kapha its definitive qualities and in the body, it comprises of cells, tissues, and organs, kapha molecules tend to stick together to form the dense masses and give the body a chubby shape. Its principles are lubrication of the joints, strong muscles, organs and bones, cellular secretions and memory retention are all part of the kapha’s function. Water and earth give the qualities of heavy, slow, cool, oily, liquid, dense, soft, static, sticky, cloudy and hard. This gives the body frame of a kapha to be strong, or tall in height and weight, thick or curly hair, smooth or oily skin. Kapha people have a steady appetite and thirst, but they tend to have a slow digestion and metabolism, which can often result in weight gain and can have a great difficulty in shedding that weight. At times, they can have cravings for salt and sweet which can lead to water retention. Kapha likes eating, relaxing and resting for a long period of time. They are blessed with a deep and stable faith with good love and compassion, a calm and steady mind with good memory, a deep and sweet melodious voice and pattern of speech.

When Imbalanced : Holds grudges, envy, greed, holds attachments to things or people, congestion, allergies, obesity, lethargy, sinus problems.
Tips that can benefit a kapha person.
Avoid a lot of sweets and salty foods.
Consume warm and pungent foods.
Exercise with rest days.
Best time for sleep 10:pm to 5:am for best mood.
Liquid fast once a week.
Eat moderately 3 meals a day.
